Akon recalls that Jackson sometimes preferred to collaborate in his hotel room at The Palms rather than the studio, where he feared others could potentially access his unfinished work.
What Jackson also left behind was hand-written notes including lyrics, song titles, and even instructions outlining how certain demo recordings should be amended for completion. One note that was recovered from the house that Jackson died in consisted of 28 hand-written song titles. Hand-written note highlighting some of the song's Jackson had intended to complete prior to his passing.
These titles are songs that Jackson had on his radar at the time of his death — songs that Jackson intended to complete, and was considering for his upcoming album. The track has since been released on the posthumous album of the same name. We were devastated about it. But its time has definitely come; now in its final state, it has become an incredible, beautiful, anthemic song.
Above: A music video for the song was released on December 9, Nice article, its a real shame that Hold my Hand was not released before it was leaked, its by far one of Jacksons best efforts in a many years, vocally and melodically and it was far more tangible for music fans outside of the MJ fan base. Yes Jason, I agree. Makes me smile. I love it. I just found the detailed backstory of the song very interesting.
Also cool to hear how collaborators and long term associates describe what working with him was like. Not nearly enough has been written about this stuff…most likely because of past profits made inventing other stuff about this eccentric artist to talk about.
Thank you. He was the ultimate Performer the World has ever known. His collaboration with akon wasjust perfect. Even if he didnt write this song by himself and yet he turned it into gold! His heart was Godly beautiful, no one could ever imagine. I heard it played at a coffee shop on the radio..
I love the story of how it came to be what it finally was! I love it I really do! Search term. Billboard Pro Subscribe Sign In. Top Artists. Top Charts. Hot Songs. Billboard Top Videos. Top Articles.
