Eighteen years later, she receives a letter from Brittany requesting to meet her birth mother. Delighted and a little anxious, Ashley gets on the first plane. By the time she arrives in her small hometown, Brittany has vanished. The movie begins with a teen in labor; her mother forces Ashley to give the baby up for adoption.

Ashley promises to find her daughter someday and promises a shady man that she will never speak of the baby again. Then she runs off to Chicago, leaving her family behind.

Eighteen years later, Ashley is in Chicago, working as a social worker reuniting adopted children with their birth parents. Ashley gets a letter from Faith, who found her and wants to meet. Her unsupportive boyfriend breaks up with her at the very moment she should be celebrating. What a jerk! Ashley flys back to her hometown to meet her daughter in a cafe. Cut to two teens, Brittany and Emma, pulling up to a cabin in the middle of the woods. Britt is hoping to meet up with her biological mother, Ashley, and has been corresponding with someone impersonating her.

The two teens are locked in a shed after having their photos taken. Ashley runs into a few guys that she used to know while she is in town; the first is a store owner Scott and the second is a cop named Jake. They are brothers. Jake is working on a call for an abandoned car that belongs to one of the teens. Ashley invites herself to join in the search and almost tells Jake that he is looking for her daughter.

Jake wonders why Ashley checks in to a creepy motel and stays in a room that Brittney was renting. Troy, the motel owner, breaks into the toom and watches Ashley shower. What is she making, a poster? Scream at me, Jacob Young! Alli walks in a field with Mariah while talking about things she has always wanted to do, like kiss a boy and pierce her ears.

Alli has lived a sheltered life. Then, by a lake, she throws a necklace her mother gave her. The police must find the necklace and the goodbye letter and assume that Alli committed suicide.

Heather cries at home and then at the small town Wellsby police station. Get it, gurl! She talks to the Sheriff, who tells her that the body has been recovered, but Mariah is an eyewitness. Heather demands to speak with Mariah, but all she gets is a phone number. Heather is determined to find out what happened to her daughter and goes to the town of Wellsby and checks into a local BNB.

As luck would have it, Mariah comes into the cafe. Heather forces the cult recruiter to sit down with her and answer some questions, but Mariah is vague and mysterious.

When she brings the evidence to the Sheriff, he gets angry that Heather is digging. He tells her to move on and accept it for what it was a suicide. She sees Ally in the van and chases after it. Bridger shows up too and says that Heather is stalking his co-workers. Gaslit AF, Heather storms out.

She calls Jack to vent, and he listens a little too intently. Is he involved? When the local BnB owner sees Heather researching the Sunrise Center, she tells her that Bridger is a hippy and has a commune.

Heather drives on down in her business casual attire with sensible flats. She breaks into the house and searches for her daughter. Heather comes home to Jack and shows him the evidence she found in the commune. The next day, they to the commune to save Ally. Jack even brings his gun. This is just a typical TV movie The acting is fine and the story is competent, but there's really nothing to like about this picture.

It moves too quickly at the beginning in order to set the story up, I guess , then it slows down and becomes like any other melodrama. It's also an awfully predictable movie, and therefore, it becomes fairly dull after a while. Although the movie really isn't that bad, there's simply no reason for anyone to sit through this.
